Kids Snake Eyes CostumesSo perhaps you have gone to see the latest G.I. Joe movie with your kid, and it was a rockin’ good time. With all the excellent action scenes you would surely think that it was pretty cool. Also, while the movie was PG-13, there are posters featuring the characters in costume. Now your young son asks you “Daddy/Mommy, can I dress up as Snake Eyes this Halloween?” Kids like dressing up as ninjas and good guys, and Snake Eyes is certainly a fusion of the two. Kids Snake Eyes Costumes are sure to be hot this Halloween season.

Now, for the parents who did not actually watch the film, here is a description of the character Snake Eyes. Snake Eyes is one of the protagonists, and he could be best described as a modern-futuristic ninja commando. It seems like a bit of an overkill to put ninja and commando in one character, but subtlety is not the point here. A Kids Snake Eyes costume will of course be based on the movie. The character’s costume has remained relatively unchanged throughout the timeline.

Kids Snake Eyes CostumeSnake Eyes is a skilled ninja warrior, so stealth is his best weapon.  Thus, he dons black or dark grey gear for maximum stealth in darkness. While traditional ninjas wore cloth, Snake Eyes has a tight suit of what looks like rubber on. This body suit covers him from top to toe, all the way to the fingertips. His right shoulder sports a pattern of six alternating broken and unbroken red lines. On top of this suit, he wears belts and pouches to hold various weapons and tools. He has a hip holster for a semiautomatic pistol, and a short Japanese-style sword and scabbard across his back held in place by a belt fastened across his chest.  Lastly, he has a visor covering his eyes. This visor has horizontal grooves running across a smooth black surface.

Kids Snake Eyes costumes will probably be simplified versions of this full get-up.  Many of the pouch belts and paramilitary gear will be scaled down and reduced.  Rubber is not really an option, so cloth will most likely be used instead.  The attached items like grenades, side arms and the like will most likely be excluded.  Lastly, the sword will be replaced with a kid-safe alternative.

In essence a Kids Snake Eyes costume will be a paramilitary getup minus realistic weapons. In fact, they may only become identifiable as Snake Eyes by virtue of the characteristic visor. This is the one thing that you will want to keep, since it is what gives Snake Eyes his name. You can replace the sword with a plastic toy or some other prop, or remove it altogether. Kids can be rather rough at times, so it is best to minimize the potential for physical harm. Children probably won’t complain too hard about not getting the complete costume.

Kids Snake Eyes outfits will still be black and paramilitary in appearance, but with a much lower chance for someone to get hurt. This is great, since they get to dress up like the character without you having to worry about anyone getting hurt by costume articles. Of course if your child decides to go karate on someone, that’s a different story.
